Crystal Lagoon Gummy Bears
Ingredients
– 1 cup white grape juice (for a clear base)
– 3 tbsp unflavored gelatin (or agar-agar for a vegan version)
– 1/4 cup honey or light corn syrup (for sweetness and shine)
– 1/2 tsp citric acid (for a tangy kick, optional)
– Blue food coloring (for that luminous lagoon hue)
– 1/4 tsp edible shimmer dust (for sparkle ✨)
– 1/2 cup tonic water (optional for a glow-in-the-dark effect under blacklight!)
nstructions
**1. Prepare the Gelatin Mixture:**
1. In a small saucepan, pour the grape juice and sprinkle the gelatin over it. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
2. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until fully dissolved (do not boil).
3. Add honey (or corn syrup) and citric acid, mixing until smooth.
4. Stir in blue food coloring until you get a bright, crystal-blue hue.
5. (Optional) If using tonic water, add it at the end for a glow-in-the-dark effect!
**2. Shape the Gummy Bears:**
1. Lightly grease a gummy bear mold or silicone tray.
2. Pour the mixture into the mold, tapping it gently to remove air bubbles.
3. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until firm.
**3. Add the Lagoon Sparkle:**
1. Once set, remove the gummy bears from the mold.
2. Lightly dust with edible shimmer for a sparkling, water-like effect.
