Description

Air Fryer Honey Garlic Soy Chicken Bites

Ingredients (serves 4):

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thicker glaze)

  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  2. Season chicken: In a bowl, toss chicken bites with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

  3. Air fry chicken: Place chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.

  4. Prepare honey garlic glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened. If you want it thicker, mix cornstarch with 1 tsp water and stir into the sauce.

  5. Toss chicken in glaze: Once chicken is cooked, transfer to a bowl and toss with the honey garlic sauce until evenly coated.

  6. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or as an appetizer.

Notes:

  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket for crispiness. Cook in batches if necessary.

  • Can be made ahead: cook chicken and store sauce separately in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat and toss before serving.

  • For extra flavor, marinate chicken in 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tsp garlic for 15–30 minutes before air frying.
