Bacon-Wrapped Burger Roll
Ingredients:
-
2 lbs (900g) ground beef (80/20 works best)
-
1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
-
2 eggs
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
-
10–12 slices bacon (enough to cover the roll)
-
Optional fillings: sautéed mushrooms, spinach, jalapeños, or caramelized onions
Instructions:
-
Preheat Oven
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
-
-
Make the Meat Mixture
-
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
-
-
Form the Roll
-
Lay a large piece of parchment paper on your work surface.
-
Press the beef mixture into a rectangle about ½ inch thick.
-
Sprinkle cheese (and any extra fillings) evenly over the top, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
-
Carefully roll the beef mixture into a log, using the parchment to help. Pinch seams to seal.
-
-
Wrap with Bacon
-
Lay bacon slices on a clean surface, slightly overlapping.
-
Place the beef roll on top and wrap bacon around it, tucking ends under.
-
-
Bake
-
Transfer to the prepared baking sheet seam-side down.
-
Bake for 45–55 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
-
For extra crispy bacon, broil the roll for 3–4 minutes at the end.
-
-
Rest & Slice
-
Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
-
Serve with barbecue sauce, ketchup, or your favorite burger toppings.
