Description

Bacon-Wrapped Burger Roll

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs (900g) ground beef (80/20 works best)

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)

  • 10–12 slices bacon (enough to cover the roll)

  • Optional fillings: sautéed mushrooms, spinach, jalapeños, or caramelized onions

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven

    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

  2. Make the Meat Mixture

    • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

  3. Form the Roll

    • Lay a large piece of parchment paper on your work surface.

    • Press the beef mixture into a rectangle about ½ inch thick.

    • Sprinkle cheese (and any extra fillings) evenly over the top, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

    • Carefully roll the beef mixture into a log, using the parchment to help. Pinch seams to seal.

  4. Wrap with Bacon

    • Lay bacon slices on a clean surface, slightly overlapping.

    • Place the beef roll on top and wrap bacon around it, tucking ends under.

  5. Bake

    • Transfer to the prepared baking sheet seam-side down.

    • Bake for 45–55 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

    • For extra crispy bacon, broil the roll for 3–4 minutes at the end.

  6. Rest & Slice

    • Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.

    • Serve with barbecue sauce, ketchup, or your favorite burger toppings.
