Description

Baked Stuffed Catfish Fillets

Ingredients

  • 4 catfish fillets, about 6–8 oz each

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko or seasoned)

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (optional)

  • 2 green onions, chopped

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a kick)

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

  • 3 tbsp butter, melted

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:

    • Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish lightly or line with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the filling:

    • In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, parsley, dill, green onions, paprika, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper.

    • Stir in melted butter until mixture is evenly moistened.

  3. Stuff the fillets:

    • Make a slit along the thickest part of each catfish fillet to create a pocket, or simply lay fillets flat.

    • Spoon breadcrumb mixture into each fillet or on top, pressing lightly to adhere.

  4. Bake:

    • Place fillets in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork, and topping is golden.

  5. Serve:

    • Serve immediately with lemon wedges and your choice of side, like rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
