Description

Black Cauldron Shots
A bubbling, shimmering brew of deep licorice, dark cola, and smoky mystique—perfect for summoning shadows from the cauldron.

🧪 Ingredients (Makes 6–8 shots):

Black Licorice Base:

  • 1 oz black vodka (or plain vodka + black gel food coloring)

  • 1 tbsp black licorice liqueur (like Sambuca, Anisette, or Jägermeister)

  • 1/4 cup cola (chilled, flat or lightly fizzy)

  • 1/2 tsp activated charcoal (optional for pitch-black effect—food-grade only)

  • 1/4 tsp edible silver or black shimmer dust (luster dust)

Smoky Mist Effect (Optional):

  • Tiny chips of food-safe dry ice (1 per shot, caution advised)
    OR

  • Smoking tray or dry ice display under the shot glasses

🕯️ Instructions:

  1. Chill Your Shot Glasses:

    • Place shot glasses in the freezer to enhance the layering and fog effect.

  2. Mix the Potion:

    • In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine black vodka, licorice liqueur, cola, and optional activated charcoal.

    • Add the edible shimmer dust.

    • Shake well for 10–15 seconds until icy cold and shimmering.

  3. Serve:

    • Strain into chilled shot glasses.

    • If using dry ice, carefully place a tiny chip into each glass just before serving for bubbling “cauldron smoke.”
(Wait for the dry ice to fully dissipate before drinking.)

Optional Garnish & Effects:

  • Rim glasses with black sanding sugar for a wicked sparkle.

  • Drop a single black jellybean, licorice twist, or blackberry into the glass for a spooky “core.”

  • Serve shots on a tray with fog from dry ice in water, or mist the tray with a smoked cloche for dramatic reveal.
