Description
🌕 Blood Moon Glow Shots 🌕
A haunting blend of red cherry and tangy citrus with a glowing ultraviolet shimmer—perfect for full-moon nights and eerie celebrations.
🧪 Ingredients (Makes 6–8 shots):
Glow-In-The-Dark Base:
-
1 oz cherry vodka (or plain vodka + cherry syrup)
-
1 oz lemon-lime soda (for fizz)
-
1 oz tonic water (for UV glow—contains quinine)
-
1 tbsp grenadine (deep red “blood moon” hue)
-
1/2 oz sour mix or fresh lime juice (for citrus kick)
-
Optional: 1–2 drops red or orange food coloring for vibrancy
-
1/4 tsp edible shimmer dust (gold or red)
💡 Why It Glows:
Tonic water contains quinine, which glows bright blue-white under black light. The contrast with red creates a blood moon effect in UV settings.
🕯️ Instructions:
-
Chill Your Glasses:
-
Freeze shot glasses ahead of time for a crisper glow effect.
-
-
Mix the Shot:
-
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine cherry vodka, grenadine, lime juice, and shimmer dust.
-
Shake well until chilled and slightly frothy.
-
Strain into shot glasses, filling them about 2/3 full.
-
-
Top Off with Glow:
-
Top each shot with a splash of tonic water and lemon-lime soda.
-
The tonic will float slightly and glow under black light, giving a layered glow halo effect.
-
-
Optional Garnish:
-
Add a glowing candy stir stick or a cherry soaked in glow tonic on a pick.
-
Rim the glass with red sanding sugar for a fiery touch.
-

Use dry ice fog around the serving tray for a mystic full-moon atmosphere.
-
Consider glow-in-the-dark shot glasses or glowing stirrers to amplify the effect.
