Description
Brown Sugar Soy Sauce Salmon
Ingredients:
-
4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each, skin-on)
-
3 tbsp soy sauce
-
3 tbsp brown sugar (light or dark)
-
1 tbsp olive oil (or sesame oil for nuttier flavor)
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar (or lime juice)
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional but delicious)
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
-
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions:
-
Make the Marinade:
-
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, olive oil, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and black pepper until sugar dissolves.
-
-
Marinate the Salmon:
-
Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish or zip-top bag.
-
Pour marinade over salmon and refrigerate 20–30 minutes (not longer, or it can get too salty).
-
-
Cook the Salmon:
-
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil.
-
Remove salmon from marinade (reserve excess marinade) and sear skin-side down first, 3–4 minutes. Flip and cook another 2–3 minutes until just cooked through.
-
-
Caramelize the Glaze:
-
Pour reserved marinade into the skillet and let it bubble 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
-
Spoon glaze over salmon.
-
-
Serve:
-
Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
