Cheesy Garlic Alfredo Pasta

Servings: 4

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 12 oz fettuccine or your favorite pasta

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional, for depth)

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella (optional, for extra gooeyness)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta

Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain pasta.

2. Make the Garlic Alfredo Sauce

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Pour in heavy cream, stirring occasionally.
Simmer 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.

3. Add the Cheese

Reduce heat to low.
Stir in Parmesan (and mozzarella if using) until melted and creamy.
Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
If sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time.

4. Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add cooked pasta to the skillet.
Toss to coat evenly in cheesy garlic sauce.
Garnish with fresh parsley.
