Description
Cheesy Ranch Chicken
Ingredients
For the chicken:
-
4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
-
Salt and pepper to taste
For the cheesy ranch coating:
-
1/2 to 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
-
1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch seasoning
-
1 to 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
-
3 tablespoons minced fresh garlic
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and prepare
Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish or sheet pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 2: Season chicken
Place chicken breasts in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Step 3: Make ranch mixture
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, ranch seasoning, minced garlic, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Step 4: Coat chicken
Using a pastry brush or spoon, spread the ranch mixture evenly over each chicken breast, covering completely. Make sure all chicken is well-coated with the mixture.
Step 5: Bake
Place uncovered in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes for thinner breasts, or 30-45 minutes for thicker breasts. Cook until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly, and a meat thermometer inserted in the thickest part reads 165°F.
Step 6: Rest and serve
Let chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute. Serve immediately while the cheese is still melted and bubbly.
