Cheesy Smothered Meatballs

Ingredients:

  • 1½ lbs ground beef

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 2 cups marinara sauce

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Make the Meatballs:

    • In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined.

    • Form into 1½-inch meatballs.

  2. Cook the Meatballs:

    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

    • Brown meatballs on all sides, about 5–6 minutes.

  3. Smother in Sauce:

    • Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs.

    • Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes until meatballs are cooked through.

  4. Add Cheese:

    • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the meatballs.

    • Cover and cook another 3–5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  5. Serve:

    • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve over pasta, rice, or with garlic bread.
