Description

Country Fried Pork Chops with Bacon Gravy

Ingredients:

  • 4 pork chops, about 1 inch thick

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 4 slices bacon, chopped

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 cups milk

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

  2. Dip pork chops into beaten eggs, then dredge in flour mixture, pressing to coat.

  3. In a large skillet, cook bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving drippings in the skillet.

  4. Add butter to the skillet. Fry pork chops over medium heat 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.

  5. To make the gravy: Add flour to bacon drippings, cook 1–2 minutes, then slowly whisk in milk. Cook until thickened.

  6. Stir in cooked bacon. Season with salt & pepper.

  7. Serve pork chops smothered in bacon gravy, alongside mashed potatoes or greens.
