Creamy Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz fettuccine or penne pasta

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 8 oz smoked sausage, sliced

  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (plus more to taste)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Cook Pasta:

    • Boil pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Cook Shrimp and Sausage:

    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.

    • Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning and sauté for 2–3 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.

    • In the same pan, add sausage slices and brown for 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the Sauce:

    • Add butter and garlic to the pan. Sauté until fragrant.

    • Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.

    • Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and creamy.

  4. Combine Everything:

    • Return shrimp and sausage to the skillet.

    • Add cooked pasta and toss well to coat.

    • Simmer for 2–3 minutes until heated through and sauce thickens.

  5. Serve:

    • Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
