-
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
-
1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
-
1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
-
2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
-
Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
-
Cooked spaghetti or linguine, for serving
Instructions:
-
Prepare the chicken:
Pat chicken breasts dry. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. -
Layer in the slow cooker:
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the Crock Pot.
Place chicken breasts on top in a single layer. -
Add sauce:
Pour the remaining marinara sauce evenly over the chicken. -
Cook:
Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 2.5–3 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through. -
Add the cheese topping:
In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with olive oil or melted butter.
Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the chicken, then top with the breadcrumb mixture. -
Melt and crisp:
Cover again and cook for another 15–20 minutes, just until the cheese melts.
(Optional: transfer to a baking dish and broil for 2–3 minutes to make the topping golden and crispy.) -
Serve:
Spoon the saucy, cheesy chicken over cooked pasta and garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
