Description

Fried Ravioli with Marinara

Ingredients

For the Ravioli:

  • 1 (20 oz / 570 g) package refrigerated cheese or meat ravioli

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup milk

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 ½ cups Italian-style breadcrumbs (or plain + 1 tsp Italian seasoning)

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For Serving:

  • 1 ½ cups marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)

  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

  • Extra Parmesan, for sprinkling

Instructions

1. Prepare the Coating

  1. In one bowl, add flour seasoned with salt and pepper.

  2. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.

  3. In a third bowl, mix breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.

2. Coat the Ravioli

  1. Working in batches, dip each ravioli first in flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture— pressing lightly so the coating sticks well.

  2. Place coated ravioli on a parchment-lined tray.

3. Fry the Ravioli

  1. In a deep skillet or pot, heat about 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Fry the ravioli in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crisp.

  3. Remove and drain on paper towels.

4. Serve

  • Warm the marinara sauce in a saucepan or microwave.

  • Arrange the fried ravioli on a platter and sprinkle with Parmesan and fresh herbs.

  • Serve hot with marinara dipping sauce.
