-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (slurry)
-
1/2 tsp black pepper
-
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
-
Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
-
Prep the broccoli:
Steam or blanch broccoli florets for 2–3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside. -
Cook the steak:
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add steak slices, season with black pepper, and cook 2–3 minutes per side until browned but still tender. Remove and set aside. -
Make the garlic butter sauce:
In the same skillet, melt butter with 1 tbsp olive oil. Add minced garlic and sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and optional red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer, then add cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce slightly. -
Combine everything:
Add cooked steak and broccoli back to the skillet. Toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce and heat through 1–2 minutes. -
Serve:
Garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
