Description

👻 Ghastly Cherry Shots

Maraschino liqueur with smoky white glow.

🍸 Ingredients (Makes 6–8 shots)

For the Shot:

  • 2 oz maraschino liqueur (like Luxardo)

  • 1 oz white crème de cacao (for soft sweetness and glow)

  • 1 oz coconut milk or cream (for the milky ghostly effect)

  • 1 oz tonic water (for glow under blacklight)

  • 1/2 oz lemon juice (boosts glow and balances sweetness)

  • Optional: dash of cherry syrup for a red swirl center

  • Ice (for shaking)

🌫️ For the Smoke Effect (Optional):

  • Food-grade dry ice pellets (tiny piece per shot, added right before serving)
    OR

  • Use a smoke gun to infuse the shot glasses with cherry wood smoke before pouring

💫 Garnish (Optional):

  • Maraschino cherry skewered on a pick

  • Glowing drink stirrer

  • A swirl of red gel in the center of the white shot (like a ghostly heart)

🧃 Instructions

1. Prepare the Glasses

Optional: Rim with edible pearl dust or white shimmer sugar.
Chill your shot glasses in the freezer for a frosty appearance.

2. Make the Ghostly Glow Mix

In a shaker filled with ice, combine:

  • Maraschino liqueur

  • White crème de cacao

  • Coconut milk or cream

  • Lemon juice

  • Tonic water

Shake vigorously until chilled and slightly frothy.

3. Pour and Glow

Strain into chilled shot glasses.
The result should be a smooth, cloudy-white shot with a soft pink undertone from the cherry liqueur.

Optional: Drop a tiny dot of cherry syrup in the center for a bleeding heart effect.

4. Add Smoke (if using dry ice)

Carefully drop a tiny food-safe dry ice pellet into each shot just before serving for a ghostly, bubbling mist.
Never let anyone consume the dry ice directly — wait until it fully evaporates before sipping.

🧠 Safety tip: Use gloves or tongs to handle dry ice, and only serve it when it’s bubbling safely at the bottom of the glass.

🩸 Alternate Serving Style:

Layer the maraschino liqueur over the creamy base by pouring gently over a spoon for a floating, haunting visual.

💀 Make It Non-Alcoholic:

  • 2 oz cherry juice

  • 1 oz white chocolate syrup

  • 1 oz coconut milk

  • 1 oz tonic water

  • Dash of lemon juice
Shake with ice, pour, and serve with dry ice for effect.
