  • Author: Stephanie

Description

Ingredients

For the Beef:

  • 1½ lbs flank steak or sirloin, sliced thinly against the grain

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (for marinating)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch or arrowroot starch

  • 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 6 tablespoons honey

  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 5 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated

  • 1½ tablespoons oyster sauce

  • 2 tablespoons water

  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Vegetables (Optional):

  • 1 cup broccoli florets

  • 1 cup sugar snap peas

  • 1 small onion, sliced

Instructions

Preparing the Beef:

  1. Slice the steak into thin strips against the grain, about 1-inch bite-sized pieces.

  2. In a bowl, combine beef with soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger for the marinade.

  3. Let marinate for 10 minutes, then toss with cornstarch until evenly coated.

Making the Sauce:

  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, oyster sauce, water, chili flakes, and black pepper.

  2. Set aside until ready to use.

Cooking the Stir-Fry:

  1. Heat oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat until smoking.

  2. Add the coated beef in batches, avoiding overcrowding, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

  3. Remove beef and set aside on a plate.

  4. If using vegetables, quickly stir-fry broccoli and snap peas for 3-4 minutes, then add onion and cook until translucent.

  5. Return beef to the pan and pour in the honey garlic sauce.

  6. Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
