Honey Garlic Shrimp and Broccoli
Ingredients
-
1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or steamed)
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
2 tbsp butter
-
3 garlic cloves, minced
-
⅓ cup honey
-
¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
-
1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
Toasted sesame seeds & chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
-
Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar (or lemon juice). Set aside. -
Cook the Shrimp
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season shrimp lightly with salt and pepper.
Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and slightly golden. Remove and set aside. -
Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the honey-soy mixture and bring to a simmer.
(If you want a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1–2 minutes until glossy.) -
Add Shrimp and Broccoli
Add the cooked shrimp and broccoli to the skillet. Toss everything in the sauce until well coated and heated through — about 2 minutes. -
Serve Hot
Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
