Description

Honey Garlic Shrimp and Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or steamed)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • ⅓ cup honey

  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice

  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Toasted sesame seeds & chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar (or lemon juice). Set aside.

  2. Cook the Shrimp
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season shrimp lightly with salt and pepper.
Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and slightly golden. Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the honey-soy mixture and bring to a simmer.
(If you want a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1–2 minutes until glossy.)

  4. Add Shrimp and Broccoli
Add the cooked shrimp and broccoli to the skillet. Toss everything in the sauce until well coated and heated through — about 2 minutes.

  5. Serve Hot
Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
