Ingredients
For the Skillet:
1 lb (450 g) Italian sausage (mild or spicy), sliced or crumbled
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (15 oz) white beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
1. Cook the Sausage

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add sausage and cook 5–6 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
2. Sauté the Aromatics

In the same skillet, sauté diced onion for 3–4 minutes until soft.

Add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
3. Add Beans and Seasoning

Stir in white beans, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

Simmer 5 minutes until heated through and slightly thickened.
4. Combine and Serve

Return sausage to the skillet and mix well with beans and sauce.

Sprinkle Parmesan over the top and let it melt.

Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Vegetable add-ins: Add spinach, kale, or bell peppers for extra color and nutrition.
Make it lighter: Use turkey sausage or chicken sausage instead of pork sausage.
