Description

💙🌙 Midnight Blue Margarita

Smooth, citrusy, and dripping with berry-rich vibes—your new signature sip.

📝 Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 1.5 oz tequila blanco (smooth and clean – choose a good quality one)

  • 0.5 oz blue curaçao (adds color and sweet citrus notes)

  • 0.75 oz blueberry syrup (see homemade version below)

  • 0.5 oz Meyer lemon juice (or regular lemon juice – Meyer adds a floral, mellow touch)

  • Ice (for shaking and serving)

🍇 Garnish:

  • Skewered fresh blueberries or a lemon twist

🥃 Glassware:

  • Old fashioned or rocks glass

🍸 Instructions:

  1. Make the blueberry syrup (if not using store-bought):

    • In a small saucepan, combine:

      • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

      • 1/2 cup sugar

      • 1/2 cup water

    • Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for 5–7 minutes, gently mashing berries.

    • Strain through a fine mesh sieve, cool completely. Store in fridge up to 1 week.

  2. Chill your glass:
Fill your rocks glass with ice water while you mix your drink.

  3. Shake it up:
    In a cocktail shaker, add:

    • 1.5 oz tequila blanco

    • 0.5 oz blue curaçao

    • 0.75 oz blueberry syrup

    • 0.5 oz Meyer lemon juice

    • A handful of ice

Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until well chilled.

  4. Prepare the glass:
Dump the ice water from the glass. Fill with fresh ice (or a large clear ice cube).

  5. Strain & serve:
Strain the margarita into your glass over ice.

  6. Garnish:
Add a skewer of blueberries or a lemon twist on the rim.

🔮 Flavor Notes:

  • Silky and rich from the blueberry syrup

  • Bright citrus notes from lemon and curaçao

  • A subtly herbal, peppery edge from the tequila

  • Smooth, mellow, and oh-so-blue
