Description
🌊 Ocean Love Colada
Creamy, fruity, and kissed with blueberries—this ocean-colored colada is equal parts refreshing and indulgent.
📝 Ingredients (Serves 1):
-
2 oz white rum (light or coconut-flavored rum both work beautifully)
-
1 oz coconut cream (like Coco López – thick, not coconut milk) 🥥
-
2 oz pineapple juice 🍍 (chilled)
-
1 oz blueberry purée (fresh or store-bought; can also blend fresh/frozen blueberries with a bit of sugar and strain) 🫐
-
1 cup crushed ice or more for texture 🧊
-
Crushed blueberry candies (for rimming the glass) 🍬
-
Whipped cream (for topping)
-
Garnish: Candy blueberry, fresh blueberry, or mint sprig
🍹 Instructions:
1. Prepare the Glass
-
Crush blueberry candies (like Jolly Ranchers or blue raspberry hard candy) into a fine sugar-like texture.
-
Rim the edge of a hurricane or tulip glass with lime juice or simple syrup, then dip into the crushed candy for a beautiful, sparkling rim.
2. Blend the Colada
In a blender, combine:
-
2 oz rum
-
1 oz coconut cream
-
2 oz pineapple juice
-
1 oz blueberry purée
-
1 cup crushed ice
Blend until smooth and creamy with a slushy consistency.
3. Pour & Top
-
Pour the blended drink into your candy-rimmed glass.
-
Top generously with whipped cream for that luscious, cloud-like finish.
4. Garnish with Love
-
Place a candy blueberry or a few fresh blueberries on top.
-
Add a mint sprig or a mini drink umbrella for a fun, tropical touch.
💙 Optional Twists:
-
Frozen berries: If you use frozen blueberries in the purée, reduce or skip some ice.
-
Sweeter version: Add ½ oz of simple syrup or honey if your berries are tart.
-
Layered look: Blend the blueberry purée separately and swirl it in after pouring the colada base for a wave-like effect.
-
Mocktail version: Skip the rum and add a splash of coconut water or blue raspberry soda.
