Ingredients (Makes 4–6 servings)

1 lb ground beef (or ground sirloin)

1 green bell pepper, finely diced

1 medium onion, finely diced

1 tbsp olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 cup beef broth
-
2 tbsp ketchup
-
1 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp cold water)

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

6 hamburger buns (toasted)

6 slices provolone cheese (or mozzarella/cheese of choice)
Instructions

Cook the Beef:

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.

Sauté Veggies:

Add olive oil, onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Cook until softened, about 4–5 minutes.

Make the Sauce:

Stir in Worcestershire, ketchup, beef broth, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Simmer for 3–4 minutes.

Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until the mixture thickens into a saucy, sloppy joe consistency.
