🩸 Screamer Shots
Sour cherry and lemon with a spooky fizz that’ll send shivers down your spine.
Makes: 6–8 hair-raising shots
🍒 Ingredients:
-
1/2 cup sour cherry liqueur (or sour cherry schnapps)
-
1/4 cup lemon vodka (or plain vodka + lemon juice)
-
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
-
1 tbsp grenadine (for blood-red depth)
-
1/4 cup lemon-lime soda or tonic water (for fizz and glow)
-
Pinch of edible shimmer dust (red or silver)
-
Red sanding sugar or black sugar (rim)
-
Corn syrup (for rimming)
-
Popping candy (optional—adds extra “screamer” fizz on the tongue)
-
Gummy vampire teeth, eyeballs, or skulls (optional garnish)
🔪 Instructions:
-
Rim the Glasses:
Dip shot glass rims in corn syrup, then into red or black sugar. For an extra scary effect, dip just one side to let it “bleed” unevenly. -
Mix the Screamer Elixir:
In a shaker filled with ice, combine sour cherry liqueur, lemon vodka, lemon juice, grenadine, and shimmer dust. Shake hard until cold and shimmering. -
Add the Spooky Fizz:
Strain into rimmed shot glasses, filling 3/4 of the way. Top gently with lemon-lime soda or tonic water for a bubbly fizz that dances on the surface. -
Garnish & Serve:
Drop in a small gummy eyeball or set a gummy skull on the rim. For extra fun, add a pinch of popping candy to each shot just before serving—it fizzes and snaps like a scream!
💀 Mocktail Version:
-
1/2 cup sour cherry juice or syrup
-
1/4 cup lemonade
-
Splash of grenadine
-
Lemon-lime soda to top
-
Add shimmer and candy garnish just the same—still scary, no booze!
🎃 Serving Tips:
-
Present on a black tray with flickering LED candles and a scream sound effect for added drama
-
Serve under dim or colored lighting to make the shimmer pop
-
Optional: chill your glasses in advance for a fogged-up “cold from the grave” appearance
