Slow Cooker Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken

  • Author: Stephanie

Description

 Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)

  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

 Instructions:

  1. Prepare the sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.

  2. Assemble in the slow cooker:
Place chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour the sauce over the chicken, coating evenly.

  3. Cook low and slow:
Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until chicken is tender and cooked through.

  4. Optional – thicken the sauce:
Remove chicken and transfer sauce to a small saucepan. Mix cornstarch with water and stir into the sauce. Simmer 2–3 minutes until thickened, then pour back over the chicken.

  5. Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley. Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted veggies.
