Slow Cooker Honey Butter Chicken

Cook Time: 3–4 hours on HIGH or 6–7 hours on LOW

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken breasts or thighs

  • ½ cup honey

  • 6 tbsp butter, melted

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)

  • Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Add ingredients to slow cooker:
    Place chicken in the slow cooker.
    In a bowl, whisk together honey, melted butter, brown sugar, garlic, soy sauce, and all seasonings.
    Pour over the chicken.

  2. Cook:
    Cook on LOW 6–7 hours or HIGH 3–4 hours until tender.

  3. Thicken the sauce (optional):
    Remove chicken and shred or leave whole.
    Stir in cornstarch slurry and let the sauce thicken for 10 minutes on HIGH.

  4. Combine:
    Add chicken back into the sauce and coat well.

  5. Serve:
    Garnish with parsley.
    Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted veggies.
