Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Beef Brisket

Ingredients

For the Brisket:

  • 4-5 lbs beef brisket, trimmed of excess fat

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 2 teaspoons chili powder

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • ½ cup honey

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup ketchup

  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

  • ⅓ cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease your slow cooker and place the brisket inside

  2. In a small bowl, combine salt, garlic powder, chili powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the brisket

  3. In another bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar until well combined

  4. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the seasoned brisket, ensuring it’s well coated

  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 10-12 hours, or until the brisket is fork-tender and shreds easily

  6. Carefully remove the brisket from the slow cooker and place on a cutting board. Trim any excess fat

  7. Pour the cooking liquid from the slow cooker into a large saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat

  8. In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch with cold water until smooth, then stir into the boiling sauce

  9. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes

  10. Shred the brisket with two forks and return to the slow cooker. Pour the thickened sauce back over the meat and stir to combine
