Description
Spicy Cajun Crab Dip
Ingredients:
-
8 oz cream cheese, softened
-
½ cup mayonnaise
-
½ cup sour cream
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 tbsp Lemon juice
-
1–2 tsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
-
¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
1 cup crab meat, drained and picked over for shells
-
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
-
Optional: hot sauce, to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish (8×8-inch works well).
2. Sauté Aromatics:
In a small skillet, sauté onion and garlic in a little olive oil over medium heat until soft and fragrant.
Set aside to cool slightly.
3. Mix the Dip:
In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, Cajun seasoning, cayenne, and cheeses.
Fold in sautéed onion and garlic and the crab meat gently to avoid breaking it up too much.
4. Bake:
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, until hot and bubbly and the top is lightly golden.
5. Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle with sliced green onions and extra Cajun seasoning or hot sauce, if desired.
Serve with toasted baguette slices, crackers, or tortilla chips.
Tips:
-
For extra richness, stir in ½ cup Monterey Jack cheese.
-
Can be made ahead — bake right before serving.
-
Add a touch of Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce for a deeper, tangy flavor.
