Sticky Honey BBQ Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • ½ lb ground pork

  • ½ cup bread crumbs

  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion or onion powder

  • ½ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 egg

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed

  • ½ teaspoon salt

For the Sauce

  • ½ cup honey

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce

  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika (optional for smoky depth)

Instructions

  1. Make meatballs: Mix ground beef, pork, bread crumbs, minced onion, Parmesan, egg, garlic, and salt in a bowl. Form into meatballs.

  2. Cook meatballs: Heat a thin layer of oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Brown meatballs on one side for 4-5 minutes, then turn over. Cover and cook for an additional 5 minutes until cooked through.

  3. Prepare sauce: Remove most of the fat from the pan, leaving about 1-2 tablespoons. Add honey to the pan to deglaze, scraping up browned bits.

  4. Combine sauce: When honey is bubbly, stir in smoked paprika and BBQ sauce. Mix well.

  5. Coat meatballs: Return meatballs to the pan and stir to coat evenly with sticky honey BBQ sauce.

  6. Serve warm: Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions as desired.
