Description

Sweet Bourbon Glazed Meatballs

Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or half beef, half pork)

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 green onions, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Bourbon Glaze:

  • ½ cup bourbon

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Make the Meatballs:
In a large bowl, combine ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, green onions, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
Form into 1-inch meatballs and place on the prepared baking sheet.

  3. Bake the Meatballs:
Bake 18–20 minutes, or until cooked through and lightly browned.

  4. Make the Bourbon Glaze:
In a skillet over medium heat, combine bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, ketchup, honey, Dijon mustard, and garlic.
Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened. For extra thickness, whisk in the cornstarch slurry.

  5. Glaze the Meatballs:
Add baked meatballs to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the bourbon glaze.

  6. Serve:
Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds. Serve as an appetizer or over rice for a full meal.
