🪦 Tombstone Tonic Shots
Grave grey vodka laced with lemon and swirling edible glitter ash—a chilling sip from the other side.
Makes: 6–8 haunting shots
🌫️ Ingredients:
-
1/2 cup vodka (silver, charcoal-filtered, or black vodka)
-
1/4 cup lemonade or lemon-lime soda
-
1 tbsp activated charcoal syrup or a drop of black gel food coloring
-
1 tbsp lemon juice (fresh-squeezed for tart bite)
-
Pinch of silver or black edible glitter (aka “edible ash”)
-
1 tsp simple syrup (optional, to balance tartness)
-
Black or grey sanding sugar (rim)
-
Corn syrup or lemon wedge (for rimming)
-
Optional: gummy bones, mini tombstones, or candy skulls for garnish
⚰️ Instructions:
-
Rim the Glasses:
Run a lemon wedge or dip rim in corn syrup, then into black or grey sugar. Set aside for a graveyard-chic finish. -
Brew the Tombstone Mix:
In a shaker filled with ice, combine vodka, lemonade, lemon juice, simple syrup, and your charcoal syrup or food coloring. Add a small pinch of silver or black edible glitter and shake well until eerie and shimmering. -
Strain & Serve:
Strain into rimmed shot glasses. You’ll see swirling grey with flickers of glittery “ash,” like a breeze from the underworld. -
Optional Garnish:
Float a mini gummy bone, candy skull, or edible mini tombstone on top—or press it onto the rim. For extra spook, serve with a tiny “R.I.P.” flag toothpick.
🧃 Mocktail Version:
-
Replace vodka with sparkling lemonade
-
Add lemon juice and charcoal syrup or black food coloring
-
Add glitter and garnish the same—just as haunting, zero alcohol
🕯️ Presentation Tips:
-
Serve these on a slate board or tray lined with moss, bones, and flickering tealights
-
Add dry ice around the serving tray for graveyard fog (never in the shots)
