1 cup quick-cooking grits

4 cups water or chicken broth

2 tablespoons butter

Salt, to taste

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

For the Shrimp:

1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Lemon wedges, for serving

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish


Instructions

1. Cook the Grits

  • In a medium saucepan, bring water or broth to a boil.

  • Stir in grits, reduce heat to low, and cook according to package instructions (usually 5–7 minutes).

  • Stir in butter, Parmesan, and salt. Keep warm.

2. Cook the Shrimp

  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

  • Add shrimp, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until shrimp are pink and opaque.

  • Drizzle honey over the shrimp and toss to coat. Remove from heat.

3. Assemble the Dish

  • Spoon creamy grits onto plates or bowls.

  • Top with honey butter shrimp.

  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Spice level: Adjust Cajun seasoning to your preferred heat level.

Make ahead: Grits can be cooked ahead of time and reheated with a splash of milk or broth.
