Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp and Orzo Skillet

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 cup orzo pasta

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Orzo:

    • In a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium heat.

    • Add orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes.

    • Pour in chicken broth, bring to a simmer, and cook until orzo is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed (about 8–10 minutes).

  2. Cook the Shrimp:

    • Season shrimp with paprika, salt, and pepper.

    • In a separate pan, melt 2 tbsp butter and sauté shrimp 2–3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

    • In the skillet with orzo, add minced garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.

    • Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook 2–3 minutes until creamy.

  4. Combine and Serve:

    • Fold in cooked shrimp.

    • Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.

    • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
