Oven-Baked BBQ Chicken Thighs
Ingredients:
-
8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon onion powder
-
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
-
2 tablespoons honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
-
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
-
Preheat the oven:
Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top for even cooking. -
Season the chicken:
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Rub them with olive oil, then sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. -
Bake the chicken:
Arrange the thighs skin-side up on the rack. Bake for 30 minutes. -
Add BBQ sauce:
In a small bowl, mix the BBQ sauce with honey (if using). Brush a generous layer over the chicken thighs. -
Finish baking:
Return to the oven and bake for another 10–15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the sauce is sticky and caramelized. -
Broil for extra crispiness (optional):
Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for that perfect BBQ char. -
Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
