Description

Oven-Baked BBQ Chicken Thighs

Ingredients:

  • 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

  • 2 tablespoons honey (optional, for extra sweetness)

  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top for even cooking.

  2. Season the chicken:
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Rub them with olive oil, then sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Bake the chicken:
Arrange the thighs skin-side up on the rack. Bake for 30 minutes.

  4. Add BBQ sauce:
In a small bowl, mix the BBQ sauce with honey (if using). Brush a generous layer over the chicken thighs.

  5. Finish baking:
Return to the oven and bake for another 10–15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the sauce is sticky and caramelized.

  6. Broil for extra crispiness (optional):
Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for that perfect BBQ char.

  7. Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
