Succulent Shrimp with Garlic Butter Sauce

Ingredients

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 pinch sugar

For the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 4-5 tablespoons butter, divided

  • 6 large garlic cloves, finely minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoons chicken stock

  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp:

  1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and place in a bowl

  2. Season shrimp with 1/2 teaspoon salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and a pinch of sugar

  3. Toss to coat evenly

Cook the Shrimp:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat

  2. Add seasoned shrimp to the hot pan in a single layer

  3. Cook for 2-3 minutes on the first side until shrimp turn pink

  4. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes until fully cooked through

  5. Transfer cooked shrimp to a plate and set aside

Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  1. Add 4 tablespoons butter to the same skillet and let melt over medium heat

  2. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant and pale golden

  3. Be careful not to burn the garlic

  4. Stir in chicken stock, lemon juice, onion powder, sweet paprika, red pepper flakes, and remaining salt

  5. Let the sauce simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened

Final Assembly:

  1. Return the cooked shrimp along with any accumulated juices back to the pan

  2. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and half the chopped parsley

  3. Toss everything together to coat the shrimp in the garlic butter sauce

  4. Cook for another minute to heat through

  5. Remove from heat and garnish with remaining fresh parsley
